Opening Prayer:

O God, maker of every thing and judge of all that you have made, from the dust of the earth you have formed us and from the dust of death you would raise us up.  By the redemptive power of the cross, create in us clean hearts and put within us a new spirit, that we may repent of our sins and lead lives worthy of your calling; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

We confess that we are human, which means we are made in the very image of God.
We confess that we are human, which means that although we sometimes get things right, we also sometimes get things wrong.
We confess that we are human, which means that God has a deep, deep love for us that will never let us go.
We confess that we are human, which means we were made to love.
We confess that we are human, which means God will continue to make us new, to make us beautiful, to make us works of art.
We confess that we are human, which means that when our earthly days draw to a close, God will receive us into eternity.
