Worship

Join other UNC Students for a service of Christian worship at 7:30 PM in the University UMC chapel. The service features contemporary worship music mixed in with some classic hymns, a message that relates to your life as a college student, and Communion.

We also host thematic monthly worship series, like Campfire Stories!

Come as you are, whether that be in heels or in cargo shorts, pajamas or Nikes--everyone is welcome!

The chapel is on the ground floor of University UMC (150 E. Franklin Street, across the street from Sutton’s).

Come early at 6:30 PM for a FREE dinner in the basement of University UMC!

Small Groups

All small groups begin the week of August 26th! If you’re interested in a group, but none fit your schedule, contact Sarah or Justis.

Freshley group

These co-ed groups are specifically for First-Year Students (Those “Fresh to Wesley.” Get it?).  They give an overview of the Bible to explore what it is saying in our lives, particularly as first-years.

Thursdays at 6:00 PM, in the Wesley Loft (on Franklin, up the alley steps next to Sutton's), led by Alex & Andrew.

Upperclass Groups

Men's

It is what it sounds like, a group of guys meeting for small group, exploring the words of Scripture in community and coming to know each other well.

Wednesdays at 6:15 PM, in the Wesley Loft (on Franklin, up the alley steps next to Sutton's), led by Dawson & David.

Women's

This group brings women into community to look at what the Bible means to us as college students.

Thursdays at 5 PM, in the Wesley Loft (on Franklin, up the alley steps next to Sutton's), led by Ansley & Delaney.

Discipleship

Designed for upperclass students who want a good overview of the Bible and faith, this co-ed group will look at a different Scripture each week to learn about who God is, what God is like, and what God is calling us to do.

Mondays at 7 PM, in the Wesley Loft (on Franklin, up the alley steps next to Sutton’s) led by Katie & Noah.

Retreats

Retreats are a time to change your headspace and really take time to connect with God, the Gospel, and others.

Our planning team picks a theme for the retreat and plans discussions, activities, small group time, and worship.

Past retreat locations have been Lake Junaluska, Camp Chestnut Ridge, Camp Tekoa, and the beach.
