Meet Our New Campus Minister, Julie Poston!

Hey all, I’m Julie and I’m the interim campus minster here at Wesley. I grew up in Illinois so I am a huge Bears and Cubs fan. I enjoy watching or playing just about any sport. I also enjoy just about any board or card game though euchre is my favorite. I think that foam soap was one of the best inventions ever, it bothers me when sets of measuring cubs don’t include a ¾ measuring cup and I think that everything is more fun when it’s a competition (I’m little competitive) . I’ve been married to my amazing husband Jed for 4 years.

I graduated from Truman State University with a degree in Philosophy and Religion and minor in Greek. I was involved with the Wesley campus ministry at Truman and I found it to be a place where I could ask and wrestle with my questions, learn and figure out what I believed, and explore my gifts. From there I went to Duke Divinity School and got a Master in Divinity degree. I’ve been serving churches in rural North Carolina before coming here this past July.

If you are already apart of the community at Wesley I look forward to getting to know you. If you are new to UNC or Wesley, welcome! It is my hope and prayer that you will find a community of faith that will support, encourage, challenge and walk with you through the ups and downs of life and faith that will also include a lot of fun, random and planned, along the way. Please stop by and talk to me any time, I love talking about theology, faith, current events, the neat class you are in right now and of course what’s going in the NFL.
