Hello Wesley Friends!
My name is Thomas Irby and I am one of your new interns at the UNC Wesley Foundation. Thank you so much for welcoming me into your community!
I am a third-year Master of Divinity student at Duke Divinity School. I am originally from Panama City, FL. I graduated from Florida State University with a B.A. in Communications.
I have been married to my wife, Leah, for almost seven years. We have a 4-year-old son named Judah and we are expecting a little girl in November. Before we moved to North Carolina, our family moved up to Boston, MA to help start a church among the students in the Cambridge community. While in Boston I developed a love for working with college students and young adults.
College campuses are literally filled with the next generation of world leaders. When we work together to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Chapel Hill, we are engaging in something that is much bigger than ourselves. What we do here is global. As our mission statement says: When we love God and love others here, we can truly change the world.
That is what I want to do here at UNC Wesley. I want to help UNC students figure out how they can serve God and change the world.
If you ever want to talk about your life, school, or anything else, feel free to send me an email: firstname.lastname@example.org
